Nah, mommy doesn't control his internet usage anymore since I got him
kicked out of his house. I'd again like to note how I am the most evil
man alive. 8*) BTW, if anyone wants to hear the story of how I got
Paul kicked out of his house send me an e-mail, it's a good story. 8*)

Since it's in such high demand, here it is.
So, there we all were, in #rgvc enjoying ourselves. A few days earlier
our buddy Paul Panks (dunric from here on in) had cross-posted a message
talking about his life for the past few years, in said message he (like
a total moron) included his PHONE NUMBER! (which otherwise is still
easily obtainable, but this made our task so much simplier) Dunric
entered #rgvc for the first time in ages, and was greeted as he had
always been with something along the lines of "Oh god, here comes
idoicy."
We put up with his inane ramblings for a few days about his love life,
and how all he wants in a relationship is sex (and he'll go on and on
about how he's so caring and bullshit, but all he ever talked about in
the channel was how relationship = sex = greatest thing ever).
Eventually we got tired of his stupidity and we banned him from the
channel.
Well, then came the post on May 25th 2003 about how everyone in #rgvc is
a "dipstick." A fellow member of #rgvc recalled Paul posted his phone
number to the newsgroup a few days previous and had the foresite to
write it down. Now with the phone number supplied to me, I made the
call. Here's a rundown of the conversation how I remember it (might be
a little foggy, but nothing's embelished)
(keep in mind, this is like 11pm his time zone, like 2 am where I was)
Paul's Mom: "Hello."
Me: "Hello, is Paul home?"
Her: "May I ask who's calling?"
Me: "Yah, this is Paul's friend, Chuck. He gave me his number online
and wanted me to call him tonight."
Her: "Okay, just one moment."
*talking in background*
Her: "Paul said he doesn't know anyone named Chuck."
Me: "Oh, well he gave me his number in a chatroom and asked to call."
Her: "Sorry, he said he doesn't know you."
Me: "Okay, I don't know why...*click*...he... would... have told me to
call..." (she hung up on me in mid-sentence)
So right off the bat Paul's avoiding me, he knows my name's Chuck, he's
addressed me as such in the channel, he knew damn well who was calling
him.
I'm not the only person who called him that night, Mercury, and Hidey
also called to talk to him, and got the same thing, hung up on.
24 hours later...
We decided to call again, see if Paul's willing to talk. Mercury starts
off and, while I can't remember the conversation he told us, I'm sure it
ended up again with "Paul's not home, stop calling."
But mine, oh mine was wonderful. 8*)
Paul's Brother Brian: "Hello."
Me: "Hey, is Paul home?"
Him: "May I ask who's calling?"
Me: "Yeah, my name's Chuck. Paul gave me his number in a chatroom and
asked me to call him."
Him: "Okay, just one second..."
*talking in background*
Him: "He said he doesn't remember giving anyone his phone number or
asking him to call."
Me: "Hmm... that's strange."
Him: "Does this have anything to do with money he owes out or
something?"
Me: "No, we know all about his psychic connections and how he owes them
money tho'." (Hidey had called the previous night and was asked if she
was from an online psychic company calling to collect money Paul owed
out) "Look, you're Brian, right?" (keep in mind, he hasn't given me his
name in this phone conversation yet)
Him: *befuddled* "Ummm... yah."
Me: "Okay, I don't have an issue with you. So let's cut the shit and
put Paul on the phone."
Him: "Okay, just a second."
*background* "He says he wants to talk to you." "I don't want to talk to
anyone, just hang up the phone!" "He sounds pissed off!"
Him: "Paul really doesn't want to talk."
Me: "Okay, then you'll just have to be my mediator. Look, we don't have
an issue with you or your family, you'd know if we did. We know your
dad's a golf course architect, and..." etc... "we just want to talk to
Paul, but he's too much of a baby."
Him: "What did Paul do to get everyone so angry."
Me: "We have a" (god I hated to say it, but I needed to keep it dumbed
down for the average internet user) "chatroom" (gah!!!) "on the internet
called #rgvc, and it's was based around a newsgroup called
rec.games.video.classic Paul was acting like a total moron in the
chatroom and we felt it necessary to ban him from it. A few hours later
Paul posted a public message to the newsgroup flaming and talking trash
on all the members of the room. We've tried to talk to him over the
phone, but he's a baby and refuses to talk to us."
Him: "Okay, so, I'm trying to keep everything straight. Paul posted a
message saying bad things about everyone in your chatroom, right?"
Me: "Yep, pretty simple thing, 'eh? It sound to me like mommy needs to
watch what Paul does online, because he just doesn't belong in some
places." (and right about this time we got this on the IRC channel
"*dunric has quit IRC (no route to host)" which translates into the
connection was suddenly broken between his PC and the IRC server, like
someone pulled a phone cord out of the wall)
Him: "Okay, well we'll have to have a talk with Paul about this."
Me: "See that you do, the phone calls will stop when Paul leaves us be,
otherwise they'll keep coming."
Him: "Don't worry, he's not going to bother your chatroom anymore."
That was basicly it. A few days later we got word from Paul that he and
his daddy had a fight, daddy popped him in the face, bloodying up his
nose real good, then kicked him out of the house.
Dunric has been back to the channel a few times since this incident, but
has since also been permbanned, which means any time he joins us in
chat, he'll be immediately kicked and banned by our channel bots. Life
without Paul is a sweet one.

Who needed to try, I called your house, you were a bitch and refused to
get on the phone, and then your parents kicked you out.

Chuck,
At first, it looked like your "victory" in kicking me out was
complete. However, now that I am on my own, and working, and dating
again, I have to thank you. That phone call improved my love life
exponentially. The victory, then, is mine:

Welp, I'd like to make note that a) Russian mail order brides don't
count as dating, and b) Yahoo Personals also don't count as dating.
Sounds to me like another strike-out there, bud. Good luck on your
constant search for sex tho', be sure to have your new GF (when you
aquire one) e-mail me for some #rgvc logs describing your obsessive
'relationships' and how all you want out of them is sex.
