AGH Atari 2600 Review:

by Tigervision

For people who never tire of shooting at things comes yet another slide-and shoot Galaxian clone, but this time with a twist. Although this invasion contest is like all the others in that the opposition consists of a succession of different types of aliens, each attacking with a specific strategy, the player's ship can be moved vertically within the lower third of the playfield, as well as the standard sideways movement. And while the ability to move vertically may not sound like a gaming revolution, it does add a dose of strategy that's absent from Galaxian and its multitude of clones.

Threshold originally appeared as an Apple II disk from Sierra On-Line, and the company produced the port for the Atari 2600 version appearing under the Tigervision banner. The result is a cartridge that plays very much like the computer game original.
